U Bein Bridge

U Bein is a famous bridge on the outskirts of Mandalay. It is the oldest wooden bridge and longest on the world. U Bein with a length of 1.2 km was made from teak wood and crossing the Taungthaman shallow lake, Mandalay. The bridge was built by U Bein people in the mid-19th century when the capital Innwa (Ava) Kingdom was moved closer to Amarapura.
