Putao Luxury Escape

Overview
Your Putao Luxury Escape Myanmar tour begins in Yangon where fading colonial buildings and gilded temple spires fill the city streets. A special late afternoon visit to Shwedagon Pagoda is the perfect introduction to the Burmese culture. Here you will witness local Buddhists paying homage to this holy site as the setting sun casts spectacular colors across the golden stupa.

The next morning, fly northwards to Putao into the remote Kachin State. Surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas and filled with rivers and densely forested terrain this is nature at its best. The next three days of your Myanmar luxury tour are filled with fantastic excursions and unforgettable encounters with nature and the area's hilltribes.

Myanmar ToursFrom elephant back to river rafting you will explore the Kachin state in a variety of ways. Cross streams and climb hills on the back of an elephant, picnic in a remote gorge in the Nam Lang River and walk to villages untouched by the modern world. For the more intrepid, mountain bike riding and water rafting add a touch of adrenaline to this Myanmar tour.

Evenings are a treat as you return to the lodge for sunset cocktails. Gather around the fireplace inside or sit under the star-filled sky on the veranda and sip imported wines, fine spirits or warm-up with a hot beverage. The lodge's chefs serve a tantalizing menu which changes daily and includes fresh local produce grown in the garden or nearby hills.

During this Myanmar package tour, the ruggedly elegant Malikha Lodge is your Putao base. Perched above the Nam Lang River, the hotel was designed to provide a feeling of luxury and seclusion in this pristine setting. Aside from the main lodge, which has a homely yet sophisticated feel,  guests are treated to spacious bungalows with open fireplaces, teak bathtubs and expansive balconies with daybeds. A pool, spa and fabulous gardens round out the property.

Return to Yangon for the final night of this Myanmar package tour before continuing your travels. We recommend heading to Ngapali Beach for a fabulous seaside escape or venturing to another Southeast Asia country with Exotissimo. Regardless of where your travels take you, we are sure you will be filled with unforgettable memories of your luxurious wilderness adventure.
